Why This Must Be Read: Probably one of my favorite Community stories. It really keeps the spirit of the show (and the complete wackiness) and gently pushes each of the characters into new and different places with each other and their relationships. But it does it in a really organic way! Also, the mental images of everyone doing a Twilight parody are FANTASTIC. Also, Annie and Jeff are just awesome and awkward and not awkward in all the ways the show has gotten us to expect. And yes, it addresses the finale.

This includes not killing her new crush with his plastic Bowie knife."
And because it's Señor Chang teaching history and running a Civil War re-enactment.

Why This Must Be Read: Oh, my god, this STORY. Probably one of the first Annie/Jeff stories I ever read, and it completely won me over. I think the thing I like most about this story is that it lets both Annie and Jeff evolve into who they need to be (and want to be) for their relationship to work, and that they actually mean it at the time. Their growth is awesome and feels incredibly organic. Also, the ensemble is fantastic and I love everyone.

I love that everything gets thrown out and addressed all at once, but it's done in a way that makes a ton of sense character-wise. I LOVE that everyone gets called on their behavior and that there aren't any secrets at the end. Just the post-everything-is-shared awkward. SO MUCH LOVE for this!

There are one or two stories (mostly with tasteful fades to black) for this pairing and a handful of kinkmeme/pornbattle entries, but this is probably the fandom gold standard. I guess people are more skittish about May/December than incest? *shrug* Anyway, this is an absolutely fantastic post-Debate smut-with-plot wherein everyone's in character, Annie is a badass (and evil), and Jeff is more than a little dumbfounded. SO GREAT.

The title is deadly accurate in that this IS what a non-sitcom, literary version of the show would be. Well, if you like Jeff/Annie anyway. ;) It's also Jeff and Annie taking a slow (!) route to each other and it's just so incredibly lovely.dearygirl has a fantastic talent with these characters, and I recommend you go hit up her Community tag.
