Character manifesto: Martha Jones, Doctor Who
Fandom: Doctor Who
Character: Martha Jones
Pairings Included in Manifesto: Martha Jones/Tenth Doctor, Martha Jones/Mickey Smith (brief Martha Jones/Tom Milligan, but that's not the final pairing in any of these stories)
Blurb: Martha is my favorite character of new Doctor Who. She's the one I want most to be like, and the one I'd rather spend time with in real life. But well beyond all of that, she's awesome. She saved the world with words--twice. One of those times she watched our Earth slowly burn and die away as she kept walking and telling her story. And when the person responsible for that death and destruction caught her and was prepared to kill her, she laughed at him.
Did I mention that she saved the world with words?
Martha's time on the show gave us lots of unrequited Martha/Ten content, a seemingly happy engagement to someone else, and an apparently happy marriage to yet another man. All of this seems logical to me because who wouldn't love Martha?! Aside from Ten, that is.
