Why This Must Be Read:marketchippie writes the best Jesse voice in all of fandom. I love how she fills in the blanks between Jessie going on spring break in 1.17 and him coming home in 1.19. I also like how she shows VA in all their messed up group dynamics. It really feels like these kids could have been molded by being four time National Champions. His conflict with Rachel is perfect and the team is perfect.

Why This Must Be Read: I love the way she writes Rachel/Jesse. After the season two finale, they are all about the things that aren't said. Jesse moving to New York and Rachel visiting him is touching. I love that her Jesse picked himself off from being kicked out of UCLA and went to New York to work on his dreams. Rachel moving to New York in about a year is just a bonus. Their is such a hopeful tone to this even if both of them need to work on themselves individually to make their relationship work latter on down the road. Plus, I love that Jesse wrote a song for Rachel to get back to his dreams.

It is clear that Finn is a good boyfriend and Rachel just wants Jesse more. You also get insight into just how dangerous being with Jesse is for Rachel. She will lose her friends which she worked hard to earn and her boyfriend when people find out about Jesse.

I enjoy the conflict between Rachel and Finn and their views about their family and career. There is no easy answer and I think that was portrayed in the fic very well. Neither Finn nor Rachel are bad guys in the fic. In a lesser writers hands it would be easy to make either one of them a selfish asshole.

I love that both Finn and Rachel grow as individuals while they were apart. Both of them engaged in other romantic relationships during their time apart. Rachel has many trust issues when Finn comes back into her life for good, and the author takes the time to allow the characters to work through them. Also you get a sense that their time apart ultimately made their time relationship stronger in the long run. It also allowed Finn to find something he enjoyed doing with his life.
