Why This Must Be Read: This piece is funny and adorable and the pacing is amazing. It's little snippets of the developing friendship between Max and Alec over the years and their transition through season 2 into becoming the leaders of TC. Amazing piece. Shows a lot of the outside POV of people who think Max and Alec are together before they are. I've read this fic at least four times.

A great look at the combination of animal instincts functioning on a subconscious level and the conscious human control.
