Why This Must Be Read: Okay, this is possibly one the more epic AU/crossovers done for the Buffyverse. It's a crossover with Highlander, but none of the Highlander characters appear in it beside in reference. These are a different Immortals, ones not playing the Game. (No real need beside the basic knowledge of Highlander = Immortals is needed for the fic, everything else is explained.) This fic relies on two fundamental changes in the Buffy season 3, and the twists affect the Scoobies in such profound and amazing ways. It changes lives. The story takes you through the journey all the Scoobies make in acceptance, forgiveness, love, friendship. Xander and Cordelia's relationship is the driving force in the fic, in this universe really, but it doesn't overwhelm it, it just is. And it's all encompassing.

The first fic, Dark Reflection, is completed and defintely a worthy read, but the sequel Cross of Changes is where everything turns messier, the background story becomes denser, the themes darker and generally it's the bigger fic. Sadly, this had been left on hold for a long while now, but even so I *highly* recommend it.

Why This Must Be Read: Xander finds out about Cordelia death and through a series of flash backs we see his journey to say goodbye to a good friend and a girl he loved. Poignant and sad, I could easily see this being how Xander reacted to the news to Cordelia's death.

Why This Must Be Read: Just a lovely fic. The Angel crew goes to visit Sunnydale to deal with some Big Bad. The two teams are awesome together, Angel has to deal with Buffy being with Riley, there's good friendship all around, and once again, Cordelia and Xander spark, full of the old banter we loved from them.

Why This Must Be Read: A set of 50 sentences that concompass nicely everything Xander and Cordelia were, the povs are splits, but Xander's is especially bittersweet. It hits just about every important they experienced together and apart, and the last sentence is hopeful, sad, and perfect for them.
