Why This Must Be Read: What a fabulous story this is. I've always liked wondering how the Colonials would feel about our Earth. This story gives Kara and Lee a crash landing here and moves them forward--how to get a job without ID, do they tell us who they are, what if they're never found...

Why This Must Be Read: Jean Barolay is a favorite bit character of mine. She manages to have quite an onscreen presence even when she has little dialogue. Also, the time that the Caprica Buccaneers spent on (old) Caprica before being rescued is wide-open for any ideas, since it isn't well-defined on the show. This fic does an excellent job in showing how things might have been when the survivors of the Cylon attacks worked to fight against their enemies even without hope of winning. And Jean/Sam = sexy repressed angst. Yay!
