Why This Must Be Read: Dollhouse set in the Thomas Crown Affair 'verse, with DeWitt as the thief and Dominic as the man after her. She's rich, successful, and beautiful; she's also involved in the biggest digital bank heist in history. He's clever, determined, and charming, and he's going to get the money back by any means necessary. OMG, I LOVED THIS SO VERY VERY MUCH. It's not just a rewriting of one of my favorite cat-and-mouses movies with another one of my very favorite ships; it's also exceptionally well written, with great dialogue that's smooth and classy. A lot of it is lifted off the movie itself, but it's the original lines that make me grin like a cat. The emotions and the chase are wonderfully described, and damn. I do so love the DeWitt/Dominic fandom so much. Even now, they do not fail to leave me with fic that is artfully written better than the majority of fics I've found in other "bigger" fandoms. Talent, yo.

Why This Must Be Read: Pretty much everything by Dollsome is worth checking out, because my god, she writes D/D every which way, but I especially love her humor. Y'know, that epic pairing with angst and betrayal and an apocalypse between them? Yeah, she makes them funny and lighthearted - in the midst of killings, even. Take this fic, for example. Dom suspects a new client of having feelings for DeWitt - and oh, no. That isn't jealousy speaking up. No, no, no. This is just him doing his job. The client might be a threat! (And, Dollhouse being all things Dollhouse, Dom has a fifty-fifty chance that he's not all that off his mark.) Go! Read! And then check out everything else by her!

Why This Must Be Read: This is what I consider THE best fanfiction currently going on in the Dollhouse verse. It's long. It's plotty. It's got stunning characterization. It's imaginative. It's thought-provoking. It's shippy. It sticks to canon qualities. It is AWESOME. This seriously is kinda what I like to think of as a Virtual S2 of Dollhouse, lifting off on the premise that Laurence Dominic is removed from the Attic and put to work again, at first in whatever spare Active is available. Then, it builds. And expands. And grows! The scope of this series is really quiet awe-inspiring.

It's got one-shots, fluff, action, drama, plotty lengthy pieces, and everything in between. This is primarily centered around Dominic, and by extension, DeWitt/Dominic. But every character here is well explored. There's great friendships built up. Topher is handled well, and I think I've totally become a Topher/Ivy fan because of this series. ;)

Cannot recommend this one enough.
