Why This Must Be Read: for my last rec, i bring you the first fanfic that i ever really loved. i believe that i read this either in 1999 or 2000, which dates me terribly, but anyway. this is a beautiful roswell au that is based on the legend of persephone and hades. it is so spectacularly written that i think someone who had never even watched the show would find it interesting. if anything, it's more of a fanfic of the myth than the show. it is slow in a delicious sort of way, filled with rounded characters and a very erotic undertone. it is a fabulous read, and i'm grateful for it to this day, since it started my interest in fanfic.

Why This Must Be Read: syfy's alice was a whole lot of fun, and this fic does a nice job of exploring how hatter might live life in our world, so to speak. good writing and characterization, also a bit sexy. what more could one ask for?

Why This Must Be Read: this is a super-short comment fic, but i have a huge amount of love for this effed up pairing. i think the author really gets into franklin's head here, and i've yet to read anything better. it's awesome, slightly disturbing and completely debased. just like true blood.

Why This Must Be Read: this fic is, technically, set in TOS, but i’ve only ever seen the reboot and this fic fits nicely into that universe too. i like kirk here – he’s funny and capable. this author avoids the unfortunate fannish tendency toward writing uhura as a bitch, and instead goes for the smart, funny, butt-kicking canon character. well written, and pretty succinct in 5 chaps. it’s worth a read.

Why This Must Be Read: this pairing is so tasty, you guys would love it, i swear. just take a little nibble. this author does a great job with the vinnie voice, and y love the depth that she gives him, something that the show hinted at but never hit full on. Its funny, sexy, at times heartwarming, believe it or not.
