Why This Must Be Read: It's a rare thing for high school romances to survive beyond high school, and Kat and Patrick were no exception to that. But that doesn't mean that they're out of the game. Meeting again when they're adults might just give them a second chance. I just love this story. Elzed took the characters and really expanded on them, made them grow beyond their identities from the movies. They've matured, while still retaining that special spark they had as young adults. An adorable fic.

Simply brilliant.

Why This Must Be Read: A brilliant short fic where two former lovers meet again, both having been pushed far away from each other, only to find their way back. I absolutely adore this story because it focuses on a great part of Anne Boleyn's history that The Tudors completely cut from the show -- her romance with Henry Percy, the heir to the Earl of Northumberland. It was almost a fairytale romance for them, only to have it shattered by a multitude of parties -- Percy's father, who had already arranged a marriage for Percy, Cardinal Wolsey, who had also already planned for Percy's marriage and for Anne's as well, Anne's family, and quite possibly even the king himself. An excellent look into the minds of two people who'd once loved each other, but whom neither got happily ever after.

Why This Must Be Read: A lovely look at Rhett's book-verse proposal to Scarlett, from his point of view. Lisafer wrote Rhett's thoughts and perspective perfectly. Rhett Butler is the epitome of a scoundrel, and we love him for it, Lisafer really portrays just how much depth the man has. Yes, he wants Scarlett and is determined not to let his chance pass him by again, but the man has layers. He truly does love her, beneath that devil-may-care attitude, and this is an excellent portrayal of it.

Why This Must Be Read: It's the perfect missing scene. LizBee writes Delenn and Sheridan's voices perfectly, velvet-covered steel the both of them, and yet it made the contrasting tenderness between them all the more touching. You really get the feeling of them being a military family, all readying to march off to war, both preparing for the absolute worst, and yet hoping, praying for the best.

Why This Must Be Read: For the fans who felt that Sense and Sensibility ended awkwardly, this is the story for you. Mercy retells the entire story of S&S via letters and diary entries, only she follows through on the friendship that grows between Elinor and Colonel Brandon and allows it to evolve into something more. Mercy also provides a lovely look into Colonel Brandon's life, something of which we only received hints of in canon. Excellently written and very true to the characters of the book. I fell in love with this story at first sight and I think you will too.

Why This Must Be Read: Minako and Kunzite were my absolute favorite pairing when I was in this fandom, and this story really highlights why. The author writes the story through Mamoru's eyes, allowing us to see the bond between Kunzite and Minako, while still leaving it full of mystery. So many questions lie unanswered, but in this case, that's okay. In addition, the author's portrayal of Minako and Kunzite are excellent. Minako is a perfect blend of her many personality attributes (bubbly, silly, but also serious and capable at the same time), and Kunzite is also compelling too, in his quiet way. That he's completely unfazed by Minako's more eccentric quirks is hilarious as well. A lovely read.

Why This Must Be Read: Personally, I think this is one of the best pre-ship stories ever! I love stories that portray Sarek and Amanda's first meeting, and this one is one of the best. I absolutely adore the light and humorous take on the characters, especially Winona and Amanda. Winona is driving George completely bonkers, and Amanda shocks everyone by having the guts to actually stand up to Sarek. What's not to love?
