Rating/Warning(s): PG-13 (slightly AU post season four)
Genre: Angst
WIP?: No
Special Rec: 29/45

Why This Must Be Read: Everything this author writes is amazing, but this is probably my favorite. I must preface this post by saying that I hardly even ship these two (although I’ve come to find out that I ship Emily Prentiss with just about anyone) but the world she creates here is so riveting and achy in the most beautiful way. The writing is sparse, not a word is ever wasted – just like the characters would want it to be. Truly excellent writing.

Fic Title: frailer than most deep dreams are frail

Rating/Warning(s): NC-17 (Spoilers through 5x01)
Genre: Angst
WIP?: No
Special Rec: 30/45

Why This Must Be Read: This story just hurts – in the best possible way. The author writes these two characters so honestly and wonderfully that the readers can help but think this is what is going on behind the scenes. After I read this, it honestly became head-canon for me. These two characters are too messed up for their own good, but in this story, in this universe, it works.

Pairing: Lois Lane/Clark Kent
Fic Title: In Reverse
Author: [livejournal.com profile] thedeadparrot

Rating/Warning(s): PG (Spoilers through season five)
Genre: Angst
WIP?: No
Special Rec: 28/45

Why This Must Be Read: Even though I stopped watching this show somewhere around season four, I can still appreciate a good story when I read one. This style of this fic really caught me off guard (in the best possible way) and the writing is cohesive and beautiful. The lack of truly excellent Lois/Clark fic is saddening, but this fic goes a long way to make up for it.

Fic Title: there’s a boy in town, says he’ll love me forever
Author: [livejournal.com profile] jada_jasmine

Rating/Warning(s): PG-13 (general series spoilers)
Genre: Angst
WIP?: No
Special Rec: 27/45

Why This Must Be Read: Not only does this author weave together this beautiful and heartbreaking backstory, she provides some much needed substance to my favorite ship (and one of the few reasons I watch this show). Jada humanizes both of these characters and provides more depth than us viewers will probably ever see on the show. Also, the writing is lovely and almost lyrical.

Fic Title: Tangerine

Rating/Warning(s): R (Language)
Genre: Angst
WIP?: No
Special Rec: 26/45

Why This Must Be Read: After watching this movie I was left desperately wanting something more - an ending that was more concrete and not so open-ended. If you felt the same, this is the fic for you. Not only is the author’s Doug voice so ridiculously well done (honestly, if you just close your eyes and say the words to yourself, it sounds exactly like him), the story provides closure for all of us that left the theaters wanting more than what the movie gave us.

Fic Title: Absolutely
Author: [livejournal.com profile] aurevoirsanity

Rating/Warning(s): pg-13 (spoilers for everything up to 5x08)
Genre: Angst
WIP?: No
Special Rec: 22/45

Why This Must Be Read: This fic is absolutely stunning. Written in the aftermath that encompassed us all after 5x08, it was one of the first of many and still one of the best. Both characters are lovely, in character, and perfectly written. It intertwines backstory and forward-story with remarkable ease. If you love these two, even just a little bit, give it a go. You will not regret it.

Pairing: Natalie Hurley/Will Gardner
Fic Title: (You) I Thought I Knew You
Author: [livejournal.com profile] empressearwig

Rating/Warning(s): R (general series spoilers for both shows)
Genre: Angst
WIP?: No
Special Rec: 21/45

Why This Must Be Read: I have such a love/hate relationship with crossovers. In my opinion, they are either done extremely well or very poorly. This one is excellent. The voices are both honest and true and the author does a fantastic job of weaving these two worlds together flawlessly. There’s wit, angst, and romance – a little something for everyone. Even if you aren’t a viewer of one of these shows (or both, really) it’s still a remarkable read.

Rating/Warning(s): pg-13 (Set post Benefits)
Genre: Angst
WIP?: No
Special Rec: 10/45

Why This Must Be Read: This is such a lovely look at Robin and how her feelings for Barney completely throw her in a tailspin. The lovely imagery and near-perfect writing makes this well worth the read.

Fandom Category: The Office/Dawson's Creek
Pairing: Pam Beesly/Pacey Witter
Fic Title: Build Our House on a Mountain
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lowriseflare and [livejournal.com profile] annakovsky

Rating/Warning(s): pg-13 (Crossover. AU post the series finale of Dawson's Creek and season four of The Office)
Genre: Romance
WIP?: No
Special Rec: 6/45

Why This Must Be Read: When I first saw this pairing I was both intrigued and slightly mortified because I had no idea how it was going to work. Then I remembered that I have loved just about every single thing both of these authors have ever produced, and I gave it a go. Boy, am I glad I did. The evolution of Pam and Pacey's relationship from roommates to friends to something more is so believable and well done that it will give you butterflies. The whole premise is quirky, but fits who the characters are at their cores. The writing is witty and smart and most of all the characters never, ever diverge from their canon selves. It's a fabulous read and made me remember how much I love crossover pairings when they are done well.

Fandom Category: NCIS
Pairing: Ziva David/Tony DiNozzo
Fic Title: Damage
Author: [livejournal.com profile] ygrawn
Link: Here
Rating/Warning(s): pg-13 (Spoilers for everything up to 5x01, Bury Your Dead)
Genre: Angst
WIP?: No
Special Rec: 5/45

Why This Must Be Read: This story picks up after the fallout of the Jeanne mission/fiasco and follows Ziva and Tony as they try to reconstruct their friendship and working relationship and learn to trust each other again. The timeline is believable, the voices uncanny. This is the best Tony voice I've ever read and with the careful attention to imagery and the character's voices, it feels as though you are watching these events unfold over an entire season. This piece of fiction is just so lovely, and so well-written, and if you only read one Ziva/Tony fic in your entire life, this should be it.
