Why This Must Be Read: I am utterly and completely charmed by Scarlett and Jeremy's chemistry and mutual adoration. The amount of time I've invested in watching all their interviews and reblogging all their gifsets on tumblr is a little worrying. I know I'm not alone in shipping them so I'm a little baffled by how little fic has been written for them. ~~Why have you failed me like this, fandom? Whyyyy???~~ Finding this story, therefore, absolutely made my life, and everything about it is glorious. The banter, especially, is fabulous--oh dear god, the banter. Uh, because I don't even live in the US but the cuteness of Michelle and Barak Obama are second to none? (Statistical proof that is in no way statistical). I never read RPF or ship in RL, but I love this story all the same. Aside from the cuteness, this story features five female voices that are so strong and distinct, like they are in real life, and I can't love it enough for that.

Why this must be read: This is one of the most original fan fictions I have read in a very long time, even among other RPF AU. The story is only about 5,000 words yet it seems much longer due to the intricate layers and tight narrative structure. The chemistry and history between Eva and James is convoluted but not confusing, as the reader is shown exactly who they are — as individuals and as a part of a familial unit. The writing style is subtle and evocative; I found myself reading more than a few passages several times.

The Church is well involved in the affairs of the living and the dead; it takes a perfect construction of acceptance and the cunning to understand how to navigate between both worlds – for those of them that exist among the living and the dead. Eva, however ageless, does not agree or participate. There is something to be said about watching with patience.

James leans into her, pressing her against the man, against him, his free hand coming to rest against her hip. He pulls at the fabric of her dress. "I love you," he says, and kisses her. This will be slow and thoughtful for her; he doesn't have to say it. She laughs though and he swallows the sound, biting her lip hard.

And that's just a taste; do not miss this story.

Why This Must Be Read: So somewhere along the line I kind of fell in love with the Amy Poehler/Seth Meyers thing. This doesn't make a whole lot of sense when you consider that I am a huge Will Arnett fan and absolutely adore Will and Amy's relationship in real life, but fictionally? Yeah, I'm all over the Amy/Seth. There are only a handful of stories written with this pairing, and this is one of my favorites, weaving together the day-in-the-life details of working for a show like Saturday Night Live with a story about a relationship that is destined to never be more than it is.

Why This Must Be Read: A brilliant short fic where two former lovers meet again, both having been pushed far away from each other, only to find their way back. I absolutely adore this story because it focuses on a great part of Anne Boleyn's history that The Tudors completely cut from the show -- her romance with Henry Percy, the heir to the Earl of Northumberland. It was almost a fairytale romance for them, only to have it shattered by a multitude of parties -- Percy's father, who had already arranged a marriage for Percy, Cardinal Wolsey, who had also already planned for Percy's marriage and for Anne's as well, Anne's family, and quite possibly even the king himself. An excellent look into the minds of two people who'd once loved each other, but whom neither got happily ever after.
