He doesn't bother squinting to find out where she is, because she always enters through the window. It doesn't matter where he is – his room, the kitchen, the hospital – she never uses the door.

Why This Must Be Read: It's called The Stage. Every woman in the Seireitei goes through it. Falling in love with Kuchiki Byakuya. The number one rule, however, is to never expect him to fall back. Psht. Rangiku never played by the rules.

Rangiku's wit, humour and strength are the cornerstones of this story, but its other strengths: minor characters are given development, odd pairings that somehow completely work, respect given to their more canon relationships, and, despite the story being primarily drama, the plot is surprisingly compelling. It also features Rangiku stalking Byakuya through the streets and eavesdropping on rooftops. And other places. What more do you need?

I can't say more without giving it away, but this has to be one of the best Ulquiorra/Orihime fics out there.

While the fic is apparently abandoned, it's still a delight to read. And I really want a Zaraki-made bunny!

The odds are certainly against them, and the author succeeds in making the reader feel the desperate nature of the situation at all times. In canon, Ichigo drops everything in order to go save Rukia and it's very interesting to read as Rukia mirrors his actions in this AU.
