The First War with Lord Voldemort

werewolfsfan.livejournal.comI’m very interested in the First War with Voldemort time period. The Second War felt more like a vendetta against Harry Potter and it was over relatively quickly. Besides, we read seven big books about Harry’s adventures. But the First War was a protracted affair. Lord Voldemort didn’t gain power overnight. I wonder what factors were present in wizarding society and attitudes that made his ideals seem worthwhile to at least some portion of that society. The most passionate witches and wizards of the age chose sides. I want to read why they did and what happened to all of those passionate souls!
