Why This Must Be Read: Oh, is this a gut-punch. Basically Rayla Givens' (if Raylan had been born a girl) backstory; growing up in Harlan, and getting out. Justified is a hard show for me as the lone cowboy thing isn't my teacup, but this story just roared for me. It's painful, stark, chilling, and hard, but such a great exploration of Rayla(n) and the economics and gender politics inherent in growing up, poor, in Kentucky. And female.

Why This Must Be Read: It's difficult to find fic that features het femdom in any fandom. This is one of the few there is and it's also one full of sublime writing. Loki and Natasha are two very difficult characters to write, and it's even harder when they both dislike each other and you feature them as a pairing in your fic. This fic captures everything well about them. They have banter, a dynamic that works for two harsh people like themselves. It works and it's sexy to boot. Not to mention intense in all the right moments.

Why This Must Be Read: This story takes place in a modern setting. Arwen and Aragorn have been reborn. They remember nothing of their epic past. Unfortunately an ancient evil once more walks the earth. Aaron (Aragorn) is a doctor, and he has a new patient - an amnesiac old man who will lead him on the adventure of a lifetime as well as setting him on a course leading to Eve (Arwen). It is the first of a fantastic series which brings back many favorite characters - sometimes in new and exciting ways as you go along. The final story of the series is a WIP and sat quiet for a long time, but it was updated once more in May, so there is still hope!
