Why This Must Be Read: Poor Jim, rejected on a Friday and bored to tears on the following Monday, when Pam has taken a sick day. He leaves her a string of voicemail messages--mostly akin to those Pam left him in "The Carpet" but also increasingly desperate in a subtle, almost non-shippy way--as the rest of the office goes through their usual madcap paces. Though this fic ignores his plan to transfer, it's otherwise I think what we all hoped and maybe even expected after "Casino Night"...and it certainly reads just like that episode would have played out.
