This story will break your heart, but there's some lovely, lovely team interaction and Clint and Natasha are beautiful together.

Why This Must Be Read: Written for avengerkink. This is a slight AU wherein Loki has Clint's mouth sewn shut before Natasha manages her "cognitive recalibration". Clint has to go through the rest of the events of the movie while thus incapacitated, and Natasha is the only one he trusts to cut him free once the battle is finally over. There's some great team interaction, but the concern and tenderness Natasha reserves for Clint is beautiful.

Why This Must Be Read: Written for avengerkink. In the movie, Natasha claims to owe Clint a debt. This prompt/fill explores exactly what she means by that. Natasha doesn't think of herself as a real person, too used to being whoever her employers want her to be (which will make sense to anyone who's familiar with her backstory in the comics). She starts sleeping with Clint as a way of showing her gratitude/repaying her debt. This situation could be really skeevy, but the author does a fantastic job of showing that Clint genuinely loves Natasha for the person she's becoming, for everything she's had to work through to get to where she is now. And while Natasha may think she's only repaying a debt, it's clear that she loves Clint but doesn't recognize what it means to be in love. I've been stalking this fill for the past 2 days or so, and it's being updated fairly regularly, so hopefully it'll be completed soon.

Natasha and Clint forge an incredible bond and the cameos from the other Avengers are fantastic. Thor, and his mother, Frigga, in particular, are delightful.

Why This Must Be Read: I am completely in love with this fic because it combines 2 of my favorite Steve!fic tropes--Steve losing his virginity and Steve learning to dance. Natasha takes Steve for dancing lessons at the local senior center (yes really, and it is charming and fantastic) and along the way, they start to fall for each other. I like that they don't immediately fall into bed, but Natasha eases him into sex (rounding the bases if you will) and it is ridiculously hot. The slow burn is immensely enjoyable and their flirting and banter is both sexy and fun. I check this fic obsessively for updates.
