Pairing: Alexandra Eames/Robert Goren
Fic Title: Castaway

Rating/Warning(s): NC-17ish, violence. Spoilers through season 7.
Genre: Angst, AU, Introspection, Romance, Partnerfic.
WIP?: Complete.
Why This Must Be Read: This was the first Criminal Intent story that I've read in a couple years (barring fic committed by The Roomate), and it reminded me why I'd always been so in love with the characters. My main interest with Goren and Eames has always stemmed from the subtle onscreen character moments that just sneak up on you and make your head spin with the dead-on rightness of it all. This story's trappings are somewhat cliche for the genre (Witness Protection!), but pretty much from word go, it becomes its own story and keeps going past all the places you expect it to stop. There's a wonderful melancholy to this story, but much like Eames once told Carver, you're watching the wrong detective when everything comes together.

Rating/Warning(s): PG, Kidfic!
Genre: Humor, Romance, Friendship, Kidfic
WIP?: Complete!
Why This Must Be Read: First and foremost, this is a complete giggle. The bits and pieces of Goren and Eames' daughter sprinkled throughout the backstory on why she even exists are priceless, as are the glimpses at Eames. Pieces has always had the ability to nail Eames' dialog to the wall, and this is just one of the better examples.

Rating/Warning(s): PG-13ish.
Genre: AU, Romance.
WIP?: Complete!
Why This Must Be Read: I have so much love for this story, I can't even say! Part of this started out during a long, hysterical, in-joke between a group of us whowere obsessed by watched CI rather intently during its sixth season. Basically, someone made a comment that Goren's beard looked a little mountain-man and, well. That being said, Jess drug this to glorious AU heights during which we get to see our favorite detectives (who aren't, yet still kinda are, but aren't still detectives) figure themselves out while in Alaska. GENIUS.

Fic Title: My Favorite Mistake
Author: detective-sweetheart

Rating/Warning(s): R-ish, violence, spoilers for seasons 5 and part of 6.
Genre: Post/During/Pre-ep, partnerfic, romance, friendship.
WIP?: Complete!
Why This Must Be Read: There's not tons of Barek/Logan fic out there (I know, I've looked,) but of the stuff that IS, this is tops. I love the structure of this story because it takes us through (episode by episode) the entire run of Barek and Logan's partnership. More than that, it builds the relationship between these two in a way that we SHOULD have been given onscreen. Although, to be fair, in fic, there's bonus schmoop. That aside, this story is wonderfully engaging, giving life and depth to two characters who are very, very dear to my heart. Also, this author's Deakins is seventy-billion kinds of awesome.
