Why This Must Be Read: Post-AWE, Elizabeth blooms into a different person in the absence of Will. While the J/E relationship could in a predictable fashion make her conflicted about herself, one reads this with the impression that for a time, she belongs to no one. An all-around stunning portrayal of Elizabeth as a complicated and divided but headstrong character.
