Why This Must Be Read:

This is a complex and engrossing look at the courtship of Celeborn and Galadriel. I’d always wondered about their relationship, her strength is so evident and yet theirs is clearly a partnership, one that lasted. This novel of over 50,000 words is a beautiful and textured recreation of the Elves' world and examination of the nature of love - of knowing the best and worst of someone.

(You could read this just being familiar with The Lord of the Rings, but it'll mean more if you’ve at least read The Simarillion, which is what I'd done when I read it.)
