Why This Must Be Read: One of my favourite ships that never got a chance to flourish on the show, I love the idea of Ainsely and Sam coming together after the show ends in those gap years we are hinted at. Lovely prose, this is one of my favourite Ainsely characterisations.

Why This Must Be Read: These two stories are in the same series and they're both amazingly written, hot and fun. The relationship dynamic is a little kinky (think Secretary) but not over the top and it feels very in character. There's also another sequel Quiet in the Library that was recced in the ship's manifesto post and that one is just as deliciously sexy.

Why This Must Be Read: misscam has a great feel for characterization, and her Gwen is especially fantastic. She's regal and commanding while still being the Gwen we know, and in this story, she renders Uther more sympathetic by letting readers understand his perspective better, as much as we might disagree with his worldview. Great sections of Arthur/Gwen romance, and the Gwen/Merlin friendship makes a great appearance, too. This story follows the first part of "The Coming of Arthur," and is likely AU from there after the second part airs.

In this series, Fi asks one of the great unthinkable ‘what ifs’ of Castledom, and does so with a quiet realism that is poignant and stays steadfastly true to what makes the show such an absolute joy to watch: the characters.

Why This Must Be Read: Fun and realistically joyous look at the last few months of the show and first year or so of Zuko's time as Firelord told through, mostly, Mai's point of view. You can see clearly see how much Zuko and Mai care for each other during the time they are apart after "The Boiling Rock" and how their relationship continues after Team Avatar saves the world. Delightfully funny at some points, you can clearly hear the character's voices throughout this fic because Zuko, let's face it is a dorkface but Mai loves him anyway. There are also lovely friendship moments with almost every one of the kids, especially Suki and Mai who would really make the most awesome of friends.

Why This Must Be Read:  The writing style causes a sense of understanding and experience from the author herself.  The characterization is shocking with its presentation of the once-so-innocent Max Russo and offers Harper Finkle a new look to a young woman, who begins to represent a light in a dreary world.  At the beginning of the fic, the feeling is solemn and gray until the end, when the reader can almost feel the meaning of the title.  In a fandom where one particular pairing dominates, this story stands out with color.

Why This Must Be Read: I wanted to end this month of reccing with happiness and nothing makes me happier than ANYTHING little_giddy writes, especially for Daniel and Vala. This fic is pure joy in which we find Daniel and Vala finding themselves in misadventures in Washington D.C. These two just can't seem to have a normal night out.

And if you like this one, but want some more meat on you fic, you should check out Domino Motion (fic tag) because it is also another favourite fic of me from this author, for this pairing. An epic tale that changes up season 10 and does it awesomely so, adding layers that we wished we had seen in the show.
