Why This Must Be Read:It's seldomly you find a poetically written version of Sailor Moon, written for a more 'adult' public. This story goes AU after episode 32 of the anime (The Tuxedo Melvin episode where Sailor Moon loses the scouts only Rainbow Crystal) and it has Serena waking up naked inside Darien's bed, with only fragmented memories of the night that brought her there. Unfortunately, Darien has no more clear idea of what occurred between them. And so they must both deal with feelings of loss, violation, guilt and shame while trying to deal with this new connection between them and hiding the truth from the Scouts.

Great psychological evolution of the characters through it all.

Why This Must Be Read: Because Alex and Gene deserved a happy ending and this gives them one that totally works with canon and the characters. It's utterly believable. I can exactly imagine this is what happened after Alex went into Nelson's pub at the end of series 2. Nelson himself is a terrific awesome presence, Alex's thought processes really feel true, and the pay-off is perfect. This is my own personal canon now. There is also a smutty sequel/epilogue Connection which I highly recommend also :)

Why This Must Be Read: Um, because some wrote fic about Flo from the Progressive Insurance commercials?  It's sweet and sincere for all its crackiness, and the author sets up a sensible, bright little universe that should make you smile.  (There are actually a few other Flo fics on AO3 that are entirely readable, but this one is definitely my favorite.)
