Great slow build up and understated romance.

Why This Must Be Read: A Pindaric ode in honour of a wedding. A glimpse at the wedding night and the treacherous waters navigated. This fic is so, so, so lovely. It's painful and glorious and beautiful all at the same time and contains some of my favorite lines ever.

Why This Must Be Read: A story, say the people, of the god Eugenides, how he came down from the mountains – not in a blaze of flames, but with an outstretched hand. The title really says it all for this one. I love the pairing of Attolia/Eugenides, not least of which because it is such a difficult pairing with so much history and, yes, cruelty between them. This fic does a lovely job of balancing all of that and still painting a faithful picture of these wonderful characters and their affection for each other.

Why This Must Be Read: The most inept assassination attempt of Attolia's reign occurred three days after her marriage. This is pretty much a "Attolia is a total BAMF" fic with bonus Attolia/Eugenides. The decisions Attolia makes and the reasons behind them in this fic are just amazing. God, I love these characters.
