Why This Must Be Read: It’s a fantastically IC take on the possible development of the relationship between Kate and Ben after Season 2 and if we never get a Season 3, you just can’t miss it. Firstly, the backstory the author creates for Ben fits like a glove and the story makes an amazing job of portraying both the best of both Kate and Ben, while showing why they complement and challenge each other enough that their individual dysfunctions actually push their relationship into functioning well. Also, it’s exciting to see them going from friends to friends-with-benefits to a committed couple working against Kate’s commitment-phobia. This fic has it all in spades: fluff, aganst, banter, incredibly hot sex. The development is always believable and well-paced and no secondary character is villanized. Leo, Lauren, and even Justin all get their chance to shine along the main couple. Plus, there’s a sequel currently getting written, featuring the author’s version of S4, where Kate and Ben officially get serious, which is a bonus. This is just a wonderful, if short, character sketch of who Kate is, her issues with control and relationships and vulnerability and it explains pretty well why Ben pulls each of them to surface. Even if you don’t ship them, you will love it.
