Why This Must Be Read:

Cozy James and Juliet fic, with James being a stay-at-home dad. This is such an intimate little fic, full of adorable family moments and demonstrating a great "what if" AU spin on the 1970s Dharma canon.
A fill for the "babyfic/kidfic" square on my het_reccers bingo card.

Why This Must Be Read: This fic is absolutely stunning. Written in the aftermath that encompassed us all after 5x08, it was one of the first of many and still one of the best. Both characters are lovely, in character, and perfectly written. It intertwines backstory and forward-story with remarkable ease. If you love these two, even just a little bit, give it a go. You will not regret it.

Why This Must Be Read: LONG, exceptionally well-developed, EPIC story. Suspence and dramatic tension are built up in a crescendo that becomes so addictive than once you started reading, you can't stop until you are either exausted or finished. By official summary: Post-S5. Juliet's finally escaped the island, but facing her past, present and future all at the same time is enough to give any seasoned time traveler one hell of a headache. And whatever happened to "whatever happened, happened"?
In other words, this story is about Juliet being her incredibly strong self and surving the trials of time travel before being finally reunited with James and have the joy to introduce him to his son Jonah. Also The 'Others' Juliet befriends and lives with while struck in the past for a time are fascinating, strongly characterized guest stars.

Why This Must Be Read: It's James' story and Sawyer's story and James & Juliet story, all wrapped up in each other and told through a post-series James ' voice-over, putting back together disjoined fragments of his life in Dharma and after the island. This fic will rip you open, leave you bleeding and you will never be sorry about it, because it's just THAT raw and passionately beautiful.

Why This Must Be Read: Dharma Fic. It's James coming to terms with who is been and who he is now on the tragic day his parents die. It's raw, short and absolutely beautiful.

Why This Must Be Read: One shots portraying James and Juliet 's life in Dharma under a realistic light are always a wonderful reading, especially if they combine in some good character' study. Also, this ficlet manages to give off a lovely fatalistic feeling without coming across as a sad fic. The writing is very evocative in its simplicity.

Basically, it's James and Juliet looking through some books one night and discussing why namers matter and why Juliet dislikes hers so.

Why this must be read
: This is a
Post-Reset, Suliet story with undertones of Skate AND Jate.  “Everything disappeared in a flash, much like those he felt as they skipped from time to time, past to present; bleeding noses, bleeding hearts.”  It poetically starts, and the rest of the tale is spun just as poetically, until its very end. A mournful, desperate undercurrent accompanies James’s POV since the bomb exploding brings him and other passengers back to the LAX, every one of them remembering two lifetimes (except those who were dead before the reset, who remember nothing of Island Reality) – at least until he and Juliet find each other again. If you were to read one Sawyer/Juliet story in your life, it should be this one. The plot, the dramatic tension building up, the emotions jumping through the screen as you read, the wondrous way every character voice is captured in here… every detail is just heartbreakingly beautiful. And of course, there’s a sequel just as amazing to read when you are over: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5180058/1/In_Shallow_Seas_We_Sail

Why This Must Be Read: Summary: In another dimension this is exactly what’s happening.

First off, THIS HAS SPOILERS FOR THE SERIES FINALE. I really am not sure how to rec this fic while avoiding said spoilers, so I'll keep this brief. Beautiful. In-Character. Warming. Perfectly in tune with the sideways!verse, but it's still them, the Saywer/Juliet that we fell in love with in s5. Read it if you love this pairing, because after that finale, you kinda need to find out what happened afterwards and this fic is a lovely exploration of that.

Fic Title: Running For Home
Author: [livejournal.com profile] valhalla37

Rating/Warning(s): PG-13 , some dark themes
Genre: AU, Domestic fic, Angst
WIP?: No

Why This Must Be Read: [livejournal.com profile] valhalla37 is the queen of Dan/Charlotte fics, she does amazing things with the pairing. This fic retells season five from the end of “This Place is Death” onwards. It’s by turns sweet, angsty and sometimes down right scary, but ultimately it’s a very hopeful fic. We follow Daniel and Charlotte as they build a life together in the seventies. The details are stunning and full of realism and the end is far more harrowing than anything we saw in “The Incident”.

He can't fight the grin even though it feels foreign, like his muscles don't remember how, and Charlotte smiles in return, relaxing back into his embrace, sagging against his shoulder. It's a quiet refrain, again and again, until the others find them -- filthy and exhausted and sharing weary, almost-relieved sighs -- even when they stumble across that woman, Amy, and her husband, even when they wake up half-bound in the Dharma rec centre, Horace glowering above them.

We made it -- and this, in all of the things gone so wrong since the freighter left Fiji in its wake, since his mind first sparked and caught at the words time travel, he does believe.
