Why This Must Be Read: I enjoy this little fic because it is Gibbs being protective and comforting even though he has no idea why Kate needs a safe haven. Gibbs left his door unlocked for his team, but he never actually expected someone to take advantage of it. The two of them manage to grow closer, and more connected, and I like how it is done with very little talking. The communication is mostly in the eyes and faces of the two characters.
