Why This Must Be Read: Korra is making room. And that's not even the complicated part. (Spoilers for The Aftermath.) An absolutely wonderful look at how Korra could feel so lost in the aftermath of... well, The Aftermath. With the complications of Asami/Mako, and Korra's budding friendship with Tanho, it all paints a very interesting picture with deft narrative. Mako and Korra's could-be/almost relationship, and the complications thereof, is so well written, you hang off of every word.

Why This Must Be Read: Korra has a lot left to learn from Tenzin, but she's working on it. This fic has touches of Mako/Korra that are just wonderful, and Tenzin and Korra in this fic are just- so perfect, oh my god, she's so frustrated and brash and blunt and determined and funny and wonderful. Great read about various dynamics.

Why This Must Be Read: Insta-rec! So, this series has only premiered online, with only the first two eps, but already this ship is sailing with awesome artwork and fics. I ship it with the passion that is slightly disconcerting. Anyway, this is my favorite Mako/Korra story I've read thus far. It's about 11k, and has fantastic voices and character development. The evolution of Korra/Mako's relationship in the wake of Bolin getting kidnapped by Equalist showcases a great journey. Lovely dialogue, great character moments, and it's all wonderfully written.
