Why This Must Be Read: I never really gave the handmaidens much thought. Which is fair, you know, because neither did George Lucas. So when I randomly stumbled across sache8 during the heyday of my LotR fixation, and then again after I met Jonas Quinn, I was surprised to learn that there were people who shipped Sabé (the one played by Kiera Knightly) with my beloved Ben.

Boy, was I missing out. Here are these amazing women: they're spies and techs, they're linguists and observers, they're snappy dressers and insanely loyal, and they receive ALMOST NO ATTENTION. And here is the story of the one closest to Padmé and how she fell started the family tradition of falling in love with a jedi knight.

And there's a sequel! With espionage! And one of the best kissing scenes (okay, two of the best kissing scenes) I've ever read in fic! And maybe if you poke sache8 enough, she'll finish part three. :)
