Why This Must Be Read: Over three years have passed since the end of the Avatar series, and the group have reunited a little older, but still struggling with that same sense of coming-of-age feel that we're so familiar with in this series. This fic has several dimensions to it, and the main part deals with Katara/Aang as they try to navigate a new stage in their relationship; as the summary reads: Long-standing romantic issues are much easier to sort out without an ambitious spirit making things complicated. But it also has a wonderful side pairing of Toph/Sokka and Mai/Zuko, and Sokka/Suki given proper respect and highlight. And just, the voices are all stunningly in character. Plus the amount of times Sokka had to endure a conversation about Katara/Aang potential love life is hysterical.

Why This Must Be Read: This one had me laughing out loud about a billion times. Aang discovers that being the last airbender might be more challenging than being the Avatar. I'm not even quite sure how to describe this story without giving away too much. Just, suffice it to say, everyone's characterization - in particular Aang, Zuko and Katara - is spot on and fantastic. I especially love Zuko's role in this fic, as his exasperation and annoyance with the situation that Aang drags him in to is brilliant.
