Pairing: Rose Weasley/Scorpius Malfoy
Blurb: ”Don’t get too friendly with him, though, Rosie. Ganddad Weasley would never forgive you if you married a pureblood” (DH, pg 756) -and so it began. The story of Rose, daughter of Ron and Hermione Weasley and Scorpius, son of Asteria and Draco Malfoy. What makes this couple so intriguing however, is that we while we know quite a bit about their parent’s Hogwarts years, we know nothing about theirs beyond the fact that they are children of war heroes –or in the case of Scorpius, not a child of a war hero. The fandom is free to make up their personalities, houses, traits, feelings, etc and it has really led to some amazing stories about them in the almost three years since the 7th book was released. Below are some of my favorite Rose/Scorpius stories but believe me when I say this isn’t even a drop in the bucket, there are quite a few more good ones out there.

This story also makes good uses of poems -“There once was a man from Nantucket”- and it has a clever ending. At 600 words, it is definitely one of those drabbles you remember long after you finish reading it.

It’s fluffy, sweet yet with enough background and intrigue to keep it realistic. Definitely one of those stories that leave you with a warm and fuzzy feeling afterwards.

Fic Rec #5 – Now or Never: There was no questioning that the competition with Scorpius Malfoy was right personal, and Rose Weasley intended to win at all costs. Unfortunately, somewhere along the line, a different kind of conflict arose, and for the first time in her life, she was less than confident about conquering it.

Why This Must Be Read: This is often regarded as THE Rose and Scorpius story. Started shortly after DH (and before the release of the family tree) this story follows Rose and Scorpius through the perilous of Hogwarts, first love, family obligation and teenage drama. If you want a fabulous next gen fic that sucks you in even though you have to be up in five hours, this would be the story for you.
Fic Rec #6 – Rose Red and Lily White: It's a strange thing to watch your boyfriend and your best friend falling in love. It's stranger still when you realise it before they do.

Why This Must Be Read: This author manages to take the cliché of Scorpius-dates-Lily-but-he’s-in-love-with-his-best-friend-Rose and turn it on it’s head. Told through the eyes of Lily, this story shows just how natural and real Rose and Scorpius are with each other and if the ending doesn’t leave you just a bit melancholy and wanting to hug Lily, then I think you should go back and re-read. Seriously.

She quickly realises that the consequences of her ambitions reach further than she had first thought, though; now the game won't stop.

Why This Must Be Read: I guarantee that you will start off hating Rose in this fic. Absolutely hate her. As well as James, Albus, Lily and about 80% of the other next gen kids. While Lessons Learned is the second in a trilogy, it can be read on its own. Be aware though, that these next gen kids are not all flowers and sunshine like other next gen kids. They are spoiled, mean, snarky, bitchy, self-centered and annoying. But this story is spectacular in the way that the author uses their flaws to her advantage and makes her characters human and realistic. Her characterization of Scorpius is among my favorites of fanfics. As a bonus, there is a sequel- Finding the Future

Why This Must Be Read: Winner of the 2008 Dobby Award for Most Addicting Story; 16 year old Rose has just discovered she's pregnant after having a one night stand with Scorpius Malfoy. It sounds like quite a few other fan fictions out there but what makes this story stand out is the characters. Rose is sarcastic, cynical and known to over react to most situations yet we still root for her. Scorpius isn’t perfect by any means yet still easily likable. With a sequel already in progress -Still Delicate, this story is by far a must read.
Fic Rec #13 - Secrets and Second Chances: An older Rose and Scorpius meet after each experiences a failed marriage to someone else. But repairing damage, personal and political, takes more than either bargained for.

All the characters are wonderfully written, and the situations the author puts them all in are absolutely amazingly and realistic -your heart cannot help but ache for both Rose and Scorpius. By the time you finish the story you will not be able to stop yourself from clicking on the companion story from Scorpius’ POV -Fighting Briars.
Fic Rec #16 - Our Little Secret: It was like a wizard tale. The clever Slytherin helps a hag who later repays the debt. Except that Rose Weasley wasn't a hag, and Scorpius didn't expect to call in the favour.

Why This Must Be Read: Rose and Scorpius are a delight to read in this story, the romance is lovely and probably one of my favorite aspects of this fic is seeing the extended Weasley and Malfoy family members make random appearances only added to the overall enjoyment. All together with a side of mystery thrown in makes for a EXCELLENT way towaste spend your time.
Fic Rec #17 - Cover Story: Everything about Rose's association with Scorpius is competitive and has been since they were eleven and both sorted into Slytherin House, where they engaged in many spectacular rows throughout their school years and continuing into their professional lives when they were both hired as staff writers for Witch Weekly.

Why This Must Be Read:Because I said so. (No really, I mean it). Rose and Scorpius are a delight to read and the sex between them is very well written and executed. Why This Must Be Read: This fic takes the cliché of drinking games and five time fics and wraps it up in a neat bow full of snarky!Slytherin!Rose and perfect HeadBoy!Scorpius. The storyline is different, the characters are well fleshed out and really, it’s a perfect addition to any day.
