Why This Must Be Read: To be honest, after watching the series and movie, I had no intention of ever reading a series of stories about Jayne and River becoming a romantic couple. I mean, really? Jayne and River? However, this series takes its time to really set it up in a believable way that's also extraordinarily fun to read. It begins during the end of the series' run and continues on in an AU version of the Big Damn Movie. If you didn't like some of the - ahem - outcomes of the BDM, rest assured that this story changes up some things that I guarantee you'll like. Give it a try, and I have a feeling that it will suck you in like it did me.

This fic is full of political intrigue, which is something I adore in absolutely all places, but it takes place on both the actual political level, at the Ministry, and at the personal level, between Pansy and Harry as they try to navigate enough of a truce to make a better future for the wizarding world.
