Why This Must Be Read: Okay, the fact that I'm even reccing this is kinda, in and of itself, very telling. One, I don't normally read One Tree Hill fic, because I generally think the show is crap. I also don't often venture into ff.net. Despite that, sometimes I get a hankering for a random pairing, and I go on the hunt. I usually look for long fic, and this one clocks 127,846 words. I read all of it.

This fic is good. It's characterization is spot on without making everyone seem like idiots, which is hard to do considering the PTB of this show can't manage that from time to time. And despite it being a Brooke/Lucas fic, it doesn't demonize Payton. They all play central parts, and the storyline cliffhanger of s5 resolves the Payton/Lucas angle with a measure of respect. There's nothing I hate more than obscene character bashing, so I appreciated that even though I'm not the hugest Payton fan.

If you like this show and you like this paring, you really can't go wrong with this fic. ;)
