Why this must be read: A ongoing series of Sarah and Derek snapshot scenes. Fantastic characterisation; sweet, brittle, harsh and hot. Well worth a read to remind yourself exactly what the show lost when it decided to break apart the Connor family dynamic they'd established so beautifully in season one. Indie's one of the best S/D writers out there, and there's a tonne of good stuff on her main fic page. Enjoy.

Why this must be read: I think I've already seen this recced on here, but not for this challenge and it's so good it bears a re-rec. Sarah and Derek playing mom and pop in small town America. It's the ideal cover. The contrast between their lives and the lives of the small community around them is perfectly drawn. Sarah Connor and Derek Reese were never meant to live on Pomegranate St and go to Meet the Parents nights, but playing a happy couple has its advantages and there is fantastically hot up-against-a-wall-sex to compensate for the kitten sweaters and marriage certs. It's funny and awesome and very very hot. Go read.

Why This Must Be Read: This is the Supernatural story I absolutely, hardcore, want to read. It's a bit of a fixit of "Abandon All Hope", but keeps that canon while heading in an entirely new direction. Basically, this is the epic Angel showdown the show keeps hinting at with Dean, Sam, and Jo all caught in the crossfire. So far, it's an absolutely fantastic ensemble piece that's made me consider watching the rest of season 5, if just in the vain hope that we get these characters on screen. I'm also 100% in love with the turn the author took Jo in and I want to print out and mail the whole thing to the show writers with a post-it on top reading: "Like this, jackasses."

Why this must be read: Because Derek is a great character - desperately short-changed by the show - and this short fic gives a great insight into him. The end section is beautifully written. monimala manages to say so much about Derek and Sarah in so little time. But then the devil is in the details and, for some reason, learning Sarah's preferred flavour of ice cream just makes me smile and then miss this show terribly.
