Why This Must Be Read: Wow. I mean, seriously, wow. I don't even really ship this pairing, beyond an idle curiosity to the levels and layers between these two characters. One of the most stunning scenes of Dollhouse had to be the scene where Claire confronts Topher in Vows, which marked a rather fascinating level of screwed up push and pull between the two characters. This story does that dynamic justice better than any words I could use. Wonderful prose, achingly beautiful characterization, and it all ties in deftly with the Dollhouse plot. It fills in the blank between The Hollow Men and Epitah One, and really, I claim this as my personal canon for the story between these two characters.

Why This Must Be Read: I have to say, I was wonderfully surprised to find this fic in such a new fandom, because it's perfectly in character and the details are all wonderfully drawn. This has spoilers through episode 1.08, "Ain't No Sunshine." The last ten seconds of the episode? Y'know, where he gets that look on his face? Yeah, this is one logical outcome of that scene, and how Nathan and Audrey explore the newfound sensation that she inspires in him. And though this fic is hot, it's not just about sex. It really is a great look into how Nathan's disease has affected his outlook on life, and how Audrey changes that.

A great read!
