Why This Must Be Read: Just a lovely story about two people we barely met in the show with too many secrets in their lives as they grow up together. The Lost children tend to get pushed back in the mist of all that happens in show, but at the same time their existence drives more than a few plotlines, so it's nice to have some fic about them. Written before season 6 so there are some discrepancies with canon but nothing that takes away from it.

Why This Must Be Read: Besides the fact that all of abvj 's work is what made me REALLY love this pairing, this fic is so lovely. Giving us the little hidden moments during season 5 between these two characters, and their relationship that nobody saw coming, including themselves. I love how she writes both Mark and Lexie, especially them together. This is a good intro fic for them, but really read the author's other works. So good. And because it's special rec I'm going to cheat a bit and link back to another fic from the same author, about the same pairing, that I've posted on the comm before. The Long Way Home (NC-17).
