Why This Must Be Read: First of all, let me state that this is not an April Fool's Day prank. Yes, this is a Snape/Hermione pregnancy fic taking place during Hermione's last year at Hogwarts (this was written before books 6-7, iirc) and that set-up almost had me clicking the back button in the first three paragraphs. However, the quality of the writing sucked me in, and when I first finished it, a couple days later I went back and started a more thorough reread.

Snape and Hermione are both drawn with depth and subtlety and their relationship is build from the ground floor in a realistic manner as the details of Hermione's pregnancy are slowly revealed.

Additionally, it has delicious, subtext/secondary plot-line with Draco/Hermione. The author writes the redeemed, clever Draco I wish Rowling had written (and thought she was going to), as well as wonderful, deep platonic relationships between Draco and Snape and Hermione and Harry.

Why This Must Be Read: Victor and Sierra are imprinted as Holmes and Watson, and awesomeness ensues, both of the mystery-solving and of the sexytimes varieties.  My experience with the world of Sherlock Holmes isn't as extensive as it should be, but near as I can tell the author nails both of Sir Arthur's characters, and integrates them seamlessly into the Dollverse.  I have a soft spot for Dollhouse fics about imprints of fiction characters (Of Ill-Advised Imprints and Rather Fetching Ewok Queens is another excellent if non-shippy example), and this is one of the best.

Why This Must Be Read: As Hermione notes in this beautiful but palpably sad sketch, Ron was always the lighthearted member of the trio, but wars will take a lot from anyone, especially seventeen-year-olds who have lost a brother and grown accustomed to living in a state of constant vigilance. Hermione observes the changes in Ron post-Deathly Hallows, and reconciles the boy she knew with the man she loves.
