Why This Must Be Read: If Damon and Elena ever actually get it on, I can see it happening like this. Tastefully written NC-17, which isn't always a given. The use of future tense is perfectly executed and really adds another dimension to an already gorgeous piece.

Why This Must Be Read: Stefan/Caroline is the only reason I watch TVD, and the likelihood that they will become canon is quite slim, so my salvage is wonderful post-series fics, and this is the best there is. Beautiful AU post-vampire-apocalypse fic, with lyrical prose, well developed characterizations of both characters and a story I can truly envision happening between Stefan and Caroline. A gorgeous read.

This is a great one shot that deals with the aftermath of "Masquerade" where Jenna stabs herself under the compulsion of Katherine, and how that eventually unravels the mystery of vampires to her. Wonderful Alaric/Jenna moments, with awesome interaction with Damon. And honestly, Alaric, Jenna and Damon together? Could legitimately rule the world with their awesome potential.

Why This Must Be Read: If you only read one Katara/Zuko fanfic, read Ozai's Vengeance. It's a deliciously long, wonderfully plotted fanfic with an incredible Zuko voice. The slow burn and build of Katara and Zuko's relationship is fabulous but it's the revelation of Zuko's long-standing pining and doubts about his worth as a human being that make me really adore this fic. Add in some political intrigue, a few smoking hot sexy scenes, and a portrait of a land recovering from a war and decades of imperialism and you have a fanfic that truly has everything.

Plus, the fandom really embraced this fanfic, so there is a TON of awesome art to go with it.

harukami  wrote the Yaone and the Dokugakuji that are in my head. She didn't shy away from what Dokugakuji's childhood must have been like, the scars it left, how it shaped who he is now. Her Yaone is tender and strong and in control - I wish everyone wrote Yaone like this. The interplay between both of those characters is excellent
