Why This Must Be Read: After watching these movies I often wondered about Nicky's and Jason's relationship pre-amnesia. "It was difficult for me...with you." So much emotion behind that statement. As much as I love Marie/Jason, I immediately wanted a sequel focusing on Nicky and Jason. Alas, we'll never get one...but this story is a great beginning. Jason and Nicky meet and talk, and the ending is an emotional punch.

Why This Must Be Read: This fic has been written just after the season 3 finale, so this is AU now, but really, if the show had gone the way the author did, it would have been great. There's an appearance of an OC the author created for another fic, but really, just for the first couple of chapters, so you don't need to read the other fic to understand. There's also an appearance of Jordan Shaw, the reason why I read this fic in the first place (there's definitely a need for more Castle fics with Jordan). Really, this fic is great!

Why This Must Be Read: Will and Alicia have such a long history as they've weaved in and out of each others' lives over the years. mardia shows us six moments in time that Alicia and Will shared a meal and does a wonderful job showing the changes in their relationship and how they eventually get it right.

It feels strangely—surreal to be talking like this, to be dressed in her black gown, Will in his tux, making small talk about her kids, his job. For a second, Alicia feels this odd sort of...disconnect, and she thinks Will feels it too.

"This is weird, isn't it?" he asks, cutting to the heart of the matter.

"A little bit, yeah," Alicia concedes with a small laugh. "But it is good to see you, it's—been a while. Too long."

"Yeah," Will agrees, a corner of his mouth turning up. "It has."
