Why This Must Be Read: Author's summary:Mr and Mrs Jones, they had called themselves. Naturally, the neighbours had begun to gossip. There are a lot of well written fics about the time Martha and the Doctor spent in 1969. I recently read this one and loved it! We get to see what the neighbors thought of the newest addition to the neighborhood. It is a sweet and funny take on Martha and the Doctor's sojorn in 1969 and how that could have changed things between them.

Also, other admin things of note: hariboo has been awesome enough to fix the anime pairing tags, so those babies should be good to go in the new tagging policy. Hardcore love for you, Hariboo! If you see any anime tags incorrectly tagged, please be sure to bring it to the attention of one of the mods. (Preferably Hariboo, because she knows anime.)

Also, re: Manifestos. I've made an executive decision just to lock down dates for when they're going to be hosted. Every February and July of each year (and October is reserved for our anniversary special challenges), so things are neatly spread out throughout the year. In February, this year we'll be hosting "Fandom Manifestos" in lieu of our previous challenges that were specific to a pairing or a character. Any fandom, all het recs welcomed within it. It will not be first come, first serve on claiming fandoms, more like an all-you-can-eat buffet. As people will probably ship different things within the same fandom, they'll have a different take on what makes it so awesome, so the blurbs and recs will likely be different. That happens in February.

In July, we'll have Character Manifestos again.

Also, there may or may not be an attempt to create a DW mirror community for this comm, due to popular repeated requests. More info on that as it develops.

Questions, comments, concerns - drop 'em here. In the meantime, start thinking up which fandom you'd like to pimp out to this community in February's manifesto challenge.

November 30, 2012: the original het_reccers livejournal comm has been imported! I don't think that communities can have "mirrored" posts like personal journals, so alas, after today, the two comms will not be linked to each other. Also, none of the Livejournal mods are active on Dreamwidth, including myself. I am looking for mods that can step up to the plate for Dreamwidth and do the due diligence in maintaining it. (Tags, mainly.) The community's challenges (bi-weekly, manifestos, etc...) are still going to be hosted on Livejournal. (Probably exclusively, I suspect.)
