Why This Must Be Read: First and foremost, there just IS NOT enough Stella/Mac fic in existence. This story is just so incredibly romantic, and yet brilliantly in character. Mac really is not the biggest or best emotional talker in the world, and this uses that (and Stella's rather justified fear of intimacy) as a framework to show them making the slow and hard transition from BFF's to more. It's a slowburn romance in the absolute best of ways, and had my heart fluttering all over the place. This is a well-written romance in the very best use of the term.
