Why This Must Be Read: A wonderful POV from Mike Branton, the guy that Elizabeth had a date with in Sunday. It follows along the rest of the series through his eyes, how his relationship with Elizabeth develops and how he sees the relationship she has with John. Hihoplastic has a wonderful way of writing, very poignant and swift. Angst, with a touch of humanity that brings Mike Branton to life. Spoilers for season three, the real world (3.06) through season four lifeline (4.02), and this mortal coil (4.10).

Why This Must Be Read: Apocolyptic fic set in a 'verse where the Orii overtake Earth, and SGA people must come to the rescue of Earth. This fic is glorious. Seriously, you will read it and be awed by the characterization and plot, and you'll be left utterly convinced that Elizabeth/Cameron makes sense, even though it's a ship that came out of nowhere for me. It gives life to Elizabeth beyond command, and it portrays Cameron through her eyes in a deft hand. It honestly made me love Cameron a lot more than I previously did.

Can't rec this one enough. Read it. You'll thank me.

Why This Must Be Read: I've recently discovered this author, and am having difficulty not just reccing EVERYTHING she's ever written. In this fic, Elizabeth ends up experiencing every single one of John's life experiences and feelings through an alien "Circle of Truth," and the fallout leaves both John and Elizabeth dealing with denial and awkwardness and avoidance. The voices are pitch-perfect, and I especially love how John retreats and avoids - because he so would - and how Elizabeth wants to give him respectful distance, but the line of privacy has been crossed, and they have to deal with it. And I love how it's ultimately resolved.

Why This Must Be Read: Return fic in which Elizabeth and Jack have an honest conversation, including the details of her The Real World experiences while comatose in the Nanite-infection incident. I love Jack/Elizabeth. And I love that Elizabeth laughs at Jack's jokes, and that Jack knows just what to say to her. Those two had such great potential, especially from canon material. This is a nice exploration of it.

Why This Must Be Read: INSTA-REC! Damn. I'm not sure anything I could say wouldn't be damning this fic with faint praise, because the author's story speaks for itself. Lyrical and fast-moving, with great plot and even greater instances of characterization and interaction, it builds quite a lovely story. What happened to the alt!version of Sheppard's team in "This Mortal Coil"? Find out what happens in the next fifty years or so, as Anr explore 63 things that happen to this group of unique survivors.

Why This Must Be Read: In a fic that takes place around Elizabeth Weir's first appearance on SG-1, New Order, this fic does a clever way of exploring the relationship between Jack and Elizabeth. There's always been, canon-wise, a sense of mutual admiration and a touch of friendship between Elizabeth and Jack. This fic takes that and pushes it into a nice "friends with benefits" angle, where there's really absurdly hot sex (writtin by LittleRed, it's no surprise), and yet, it remains true to their characters. Jack's POV is spot-on in this, as it also explores his snarkiness and how this entanglement with Elizabeth would look to the rest of the SG-1 members.
