Why This Must Be Read: It starts about two weeks after VLV, so anything that happened after that episode in the show has not happened in this story's reality and the best Roswell semi-AU Arc EVER written. Seriously. It features an exploration of the alien subculture and alien mating rituals, the Royal Four past lives on Antar that creates whole a new, addictive mythology. I started Mysteries in the late evening the first time I’ve read it, and I could not put the series down until Iwas finished… in the early morning! If you loved Roswell even JUST a little, you would not ever forgive yourself for missing this one! Also I was a stargazer girl as well a Candy, so I loved that the fic focused on MM first and AI almost as strongly.

Why This Must Be Read: It’s a splendidly written, subtly erotic and agansty all-humans AU where Michael is a socially-challenge artist and Maria a waitress completely absorbed by the constant preoccupation of looking after her brother and small daughter.  They are struck inside their routines until, a night, they join in a place of loneliness and quiet despair, having sex. I love the psychological depth of this story in portraying every single relationship here.

Why This Must Be Read: There was no near fatal shot at the CrashDown of Liz, no Tess…no danger. Just three alien children raised in Roswell not knowing who they were, just that they were different, and unable to leave Roswell. Instead of Michael being apart from Max and Isabel, the three were found in the desert together. Loner writer Mchael Guerin finds an amnesic girl in his backyard and takes care of her, hiding her, like she is a bird with a broken wing. And while they inevitably fall in love and he tries to help her to piece back the pieces of her memory, his life is propelled into a web of violence and intrigue, because someone is after Maria … to kill her. And in the meantime, Jaded FBI agent Alex Whitman finds some peace by growing closer to Isabel. Doc Paul fics are always interesting and original, but  in my opinion this is his very best.
