Why This Must Be Read: a wonderfully dark rewrite of that last scene between Anne and Henry, when her ghost returns to haunt him before his death… expanding the scene truly does both the characters justice. Lovely writing.

Why This Must Be Read: On the show, Henry VIII’s main problem was that he constantly blamed the outcome of actions and feelings on other people. He was also a bit too focused on that sense of self-entitlement to truly love anyone selflessly. I loved this fic because it gave Anne the chance to taunt him about it, although this happens within a dream. It’s a dream sequence between Anne and Henry right after Jane Seymour’ s death. It shows Henry was not as clueless about his flaws as he wished to be.
