Why This Must Be Read:cherry_kiss_8 paints a vivid and heartbreaking-but-not picture of what could have been season 5, if Castiel had raised two souls from hell instead of one. Bela and Dean's characterizations are spot-on and the tarnish of hell is very real and very relevant. The Bela!POV is perfect and her questions are so in-character it makes me wish this wasn't quite so AU.
Plus, there's an ending that stays true to canon but lets Dean and Bela get away with something they never thought they'd have(in a really, really good way).
