Why This Must Be Read: Based off a Shop Around the Corner challenge in the leslie_ben community, this story sweeps Leslie and Ben back into an AU where they are middle schoolers who begin to write anonymous letters to one another over the summer just before they attend the same summer camp in Indiana. stillscape really makes this premise work, and has a keen touch for the voices and feelings of kids that age.

Why This Must Be Read: Leslie/Ben is my endgame, but this story makes this pairing work. There's still a ton of tension between Leslie and Ben, but the author does a great job of making Ann/Ben seem plausible and desirable. This story is on the nbckink community.

Why This Must Be Read: There's been a number of speculative break-up stories in this fandom, and this one particularly struck me for how realistic and complicated and nuanced the relationship between Leslie and Ben is before and during the break-up. The writing is great and it's a story that I'm definitely following until it's done.
