Why This Must Be Read: An outstanding rewrite of the TOS episode of Amok Time. havocthecat takes the events of that episode, originally written back in the 1960s where people had a very different mindset, and, well, updates them (for lack of a better word). Christine is brilliant in this story, showing just how fierce a woman can be on a starship. The connection that she has with Spock is also amazing, as is the other subplots woven into the story. A brilliant fic, one I firmly think would have ended up on our television screens if Amok Time had been written and aired today.
