Why This Must Be Read: This is the 2nd chance story, after Severus dies in Deathly Hollows, that I never knew I wanted until I found it. The summary is this: Severus wakes up in the afterlife expecting something rather different than being almost-seventeen again. Seriously, what kind of game is this? But wait - Lily's come back, too - from 1981? Perhaps it's a second chance... but to do what?

Severus wakes up seventeen again but is still truly the Severus that's lived a hard, hard 38 years before his death. He's dark, angry, and bitter. So you have Sev back and Lily who's just died in '81 and hasn't seen Severus in years and is dealing with the emotional fallout of having just lost her husband and her son. And here's a Lily that isn't too stupid to live, who slowly starts to realize her own faults, comes to terms with how she could fall for someone who'd treated her best friend so abhorrently, and then finally dealing with the loss of Harry. I could go on and on even more. It's the grown up version of a second chance story for both Lily and Severus. This fic doesn't pull many punches and the author creates a world that grips you and keeps you enthralled to the very end.
