Why This Must Be Read: I wanted to end this month of reccing with happiness and nothing makes me happier than ANYTHING

little_giddy writes, especially for Daniel and Vala. This fic is pure joy in which we find Daniel and Vala finding themselves in misadventures in Washington D.C. These two just can't seem to have a normal night out.

And if you like this one, but want some more meat on you fic, you should check out Domino Motion (fic tag) because it is also another favourite fic of me from this author, for this pairing. An epic tale that changes up season 10 and does it awesomely so, adding layers that we wished we had seen in the show.

Lastly, I just want to say this last month as been one awesome ride in reccing. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. :D

Why This Must Be Read: A sequel to havoc's first Lovecraft inspired fic The Hidden Lore of the Old Ocean (while not absolutely necessary to to read the first story I strongly recommend it, if only to understand this world a little better.), this continues the AU with Vala at it's forefront leading us through this disturbing new world. Creepy and fascinating I love the story that is weaved around the idea of Vala staying prisoner on the Prometheus after she tries to steal and accompanying it's crew to Atlantis. There they encounter the remnants of the SGA crew, but nothing is what it seems. Something Vala notices as she finds a ally and lover in Evan Lorne. The narrative is soft and dark and you feel like there is something lurking in the corners of each word waiting for you to figure it out.

Why This Must Be Read: I am a complete dunce for not having recced this before! This is straight up homage to the 1940's detective novels by Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett, even if it was kind of inspired by Nero Wolfe and me babbling about Elizabeth Weir in 1940's suits. STILL. YOU GUYS. This thing is AWESOME. It's populated by all your favorite SG-1 and SGA characters and totally nails the 1940's detective novel, vaguely uncertain plot and all. There's even a brothel! One of my favorite crossovers EVER. For real, you'll be totally glad you read this when you're giggling.

Why This Must Be Read: Coming Back Home is one of my favorite feel-good stories for Stargate Atlantis or SG-1. It's utterly charming, warm and engrossing. This story has something for everyone, balancing tense emotional drama with delightfully light comedy. At its heart, this wonderful story by a talented first-time author is a study of the relationships on Atlantis and in the SGC, not just romantic but those of friends, coworkers, parent and child and superior to subordinate. The exquisitely written narrative focuses primarily on is the 'will they or won't they?' relationships of Laura Cadman and Evan Lorne and Sam Carter and Jack O'Neill. Here as in canon, the bonds of marriage, partnership and friendship are a source of strength, comfort, guidance and joy, and the author wisely allows the dramatic conflict to arise naturally from how these relationships overlap, intersect and change. The list of pairings seems enormous yet each utterly believable couple receives enough attention to make their fans happy and convey palpable chemistry. Coming Back Home won a 2008 Isis Award in a tough category so though I am biased as its beta, I think I can safely guarantee you'll love it too.

This is a fantastic crossover story that just happens to hit not just one, but four ships I love. "During a rescue mission gone awry, Sam and Jack end up stranded in another galaxy where they find themselves passengers on a ship called Serenity." There is a lot to love just from the premise: Stargate Sg-1 and Firefly! Annerb's character voices are all true and wonderful. It's so much fun watching the two different groups of people interact as they figure out they might actually have the same goals. This is a fantastic adventure piece with drama, humor, tension, character moments, and a satisfying end.

Why This Must Be Read: I love this fic to tiny, tiny bits. It's Daniel, Vala, Cameron and Carolyn at the end of the world and surviving. In less than ideal circumstances. Vala's pov is dead on here, it feels like Vala, jumping from serious to light to introspective in a split second and flawlessly. Full of wonderful character moments this fic has one of my favourite Daniel/Vala confrontations about everything really. Plus there's a bonus character that shows up, which is awesome.

Why This Must Be Read: The meeting of these two characters just fits so well. It's so easy to imagine them meeting during their many years of space pirating in dingy bars, striking up a friendship, and then going about their merry space pirating ways. This fic does a wonderful job of inserting their meetings, time travel and all, and it does it naturally, not once making their meetings feel forced. There's even hot bar sex twice over.

Why This Must Be Read: A wonderful Teal'c voice, this fic focuses his relationships with others besides SG-1, including Ishta. Along with having a very nice mission based plot, this fic is lovely exploration of Teal'c separate from SG-1, taking stock of his life and living it away from the Tau'ri. Ishta through Teal'c's eyes is strong, able, but also real. Their relationship and their approach to it is subtle, full of an easy understanding of each other that I love.

Why This Must Be Read:
This is simply one of the best Stargate Sg-1 fics I have read recently. Period. The fic centers on the decisions Sam faces after the events of the Atlantis Season 5 premier. It does a superlative job of getting into Carter's head as she weighs her options and tries to logically fit in the new twist of being in a relationship as she decides where to go and what to do next. The fic paints a picture of two complicated people who love one another but face the interesting situation of having been unable to be together in the same location for most of their relationship. Despite knowing one another for more than a decade, they're still struggling to understand one another, and this fic shows how that effects their relationship. It's simply an amazing fic.

This is where the fic starts off. Short and smutty this fic centers around a dinner on an alien planet shared between the two. A fun misadventure for these two, this fic hits all right buttons, including alien food, drinks, fun flirting, and some hot smut.

Beginning after Jack moved to DC and Sam moved to Nevada, each story highlights some part of their struggle to come to terms with the new possibilities in front of them. The series is a slow, delightful burn and each part is a fantastic read.

Why This Must Be Read: . This story is part of her Eurydiceverse, and while you don't have to read the other ones as they are all able to stand alone, I suggest you do. All of her stories get inside you and strike your very core. Her characterizations are always so in depth and delve deeper into the dark parts of these character's psyches better than most are capable of and then she lays it all out as beautiful and as heartbreaking as possible. This story is mostly Jack and Vala, but it's also about how people love, in every aspect of the word. It's about the love one has for their team, for their family, for their lover - how it's not always simple and neat.
