Why This Must Be Read:This is hands down one of the most amazing character studies of Gil Grissom I have ever read. It begins with a glimpse of his strained relationship with Sara and then tracks back to his childhood, leading us slowly through the major moments in his life, explaining how they all fed into his conflicted relationship with Sara. I ache for the Grissom in this fic, and cheer for his triumphs, and the ultimate conclusion that allows him to finally take that risk and let Sara in. I particularly love the section detailing the first time Grissom meets Sara, and the picture of her through his eyes. It's just breathtaking and so damn right. Enjoy!

It's lovely Sara/Grissom, with the two of them having such a lovely & strong connection, but scared to take the final step into a relationship. It's also a fabulous Sara story itself, with interesting backstory for her, and a lot of the story is about her finding & understanding herself alone, as well as with Grissom.

Why This Must Be Read: This is a really long, sweet, well-written story in which Sara adopts a little girl, Brenda (who featured in one of the early episodes of the show). There's a total of 91 chapters, so it'll take you some time to read! There's a number of good stories around in which Sara has a child, but this is definitely one of the best.

Why This Must Be Read: Teenwitch is one of my favourite CSI authors (her CSI/House crossover fic is another particular highlight of her work). A Trial of the Heart is quite dark and at times heartbreaking, but totally worth a read. In it, Sara and Grissom are struggling to be back at work, while suffering flashbacks from a horrible ordeal they went through. It's well written, emotional and very much recommended.

Why This Must Be Read: This is one of my all-time favourite CSI fics. It's a hurt/comfort story, in which Grissom and Sara are stranded out in the desert, and Sara is seriously injured. It's heartbreaking at times but lovely too, and it's very well written and immensely gripping. CSI was my first fanfiction fandom, and this was the first story I read that I absolutely loved.

Why This Must Be Read: This is one of my favorite canon ships on TV, but there's a shocking lack of good fic for the pairing. This is a nice one - charting the course of their relationship from first meeting all the way to love. It's sweet without being too sweet & fluffy, has a nice Grissom POV, and weaves canon well throughout the series of vignettes.
