Fandom: Twilight
Pairing: Jacob/Bella
Blurb: Jacob/Bella are my OTP because they represent what I feel is the truest form of love, one that grows from friendship, respect, a mutual acceptance of one another’s faults, and an undeniable chemistry. When the series failed to meet my hope regarding the relationship for these two, I turned to reading and writing fanfic for satisfaction. This corner of the Twilight fandom is blessed to have my quality authors, and these are only some of my favorites. (Aren't you happy I didn't give you my lengthy, standard "This is why I'm Team Jacob" speech? ^_^)
Fic Rec #1: The Passing Years
Author:
borntobewild13

Rating/Warning(s): Rated M, but I don’t know if it’s earned the rating quite yet. Some language.
Why This Must Be Read: This is a great story of Bella leaving with the Cullens and eventually returning to Forks four years later. Alone. And human. The author is excellent at capturing the humanity of the characters, showcasing both their faults and their redeeming warmth. I know some readers complain about grammar issues, but honestly, I’m so enraptured when I’m reading, that I rarely ever notice them. It’s a WIP, and though she hasn’t updated in a while, I know she plans on updating soon.
Fic Rec #2 Then Direct You Into My Arms
Author:
bluesuzanne

Rating/Warning(s): T
Why This Must Be Read: Basically if you read J/B fanfic, chances are you’ve heard of this story. When people ask for a J/B rec, this is often one of the first mentioned. She’s a very gifted writer who’s captured the characters’ voices so convincingly, you can tell she has a better handle of them than Stephanie Meyer ever did. This story has quickly become a classic.
Fic Rec #3: Breathe Again
Author:
ysar
Link: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4650839/1/Breathe_Again
Rating/Warning(s): M for some language and “adult situations.” No lemons.
Why This Must Be Read:Fluff. Lots of fluff. You get the sweet side of the Bella/Jacob romance that you never get in the series. The story is really laid back (not a lot of action) and each chapter is told once from Bella’s POV and once from Jacob’s POV. She’s really good at incorporating the secondary characters into the story. Again, this is a WIP but the author is still around and very active in Twific, so I have every anticipation that she’ll continue with this story.
Fic Rec #4: Artist
Author:
midnight_jo
Link: http://midnight-jo.livejournal.com/7393.html#cutid1
Rating/Warning(s): M for language.
Why This Must Be Read: One-shot. Fluffy and funny (with a dash of hawtness), this story is one of the most charming fics I have ever read. She makes the transition from friends to something more so smoothly and lovingly. This authors captures the Jacob/Bella chemistry so wonderfully.
Fic Rec #5: Postcards
Author:
audreyii_fic
Link: http://audreyii-fic.livejournal.com/426.html
Rating/Warning(s): M, for sexin’ (not graphic)
Why This Must Be Read: A New Moon movie AU road trip. This story is so pleasant to read because it’s not bogged with flowery prose or descriptions. It’s very blunt, angsty, and romantic. The author doesn’t full around, and no sentence seems arbitrary. Completed w/ a HAPPY ending (what I think of as a happy ending anyway).
Fic Rec #6: How to Seduce a Werewolf
Author:
leelator
Link: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5649970/1/How_to_Seduce_a_Werewolf
Rating/Warning(s): M, for graphic sex
Why This Must Be Read: Drunk Bella. That should be reason enough. I was laughing through the entire first chapter. The author is witty with her humor and isn’t afraid to get dirty. The characters differ a bit from how they are portrayed in the series, but she makes it amusing enough that I don’t mind. Also, Jealous Jacob is incredibly hawt…
Fic Rec #7: Bark at the Moon
Author:
stretch
Link: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4858347/1/Bark_At_The_Moon
Rating/Warning(s): T, for language and underage drinking
Why This Must Be Read: Anything written by her is golden, and she has lots to choose from. But this story in particular hold a special place in my heart. Lots of humor of the Quimbry variety which get’s it loads of brownie points. This is one of those stories that captures Jacob and Bella teetering on the edge of friendship/romance. The line is a fine one and Bella is a very clumsy girl.
Fic Rec #8: The Two Hundred and Seven Days After
Author:
monroeslittle
Link: http://monroeslittle.livejournal.com/11193.html#cutid1
Rating/Warning(s): PG-13
Why This Must Be Read: A story where Jacob and Bella are together when he imprints on another woman. Normally that plot makes me click the back button, but I think this story does the concept some justice. And I’ve never seen a fanfic author so thoroughly develop Bella’s character through traceable growth. Plus Leah comes along for the ride, and that’s always a great bonus.
Fic Rec #9: Evaporate
Author:
saramiskismet
Link: http://community.livejournal.com/kizmetology/1899.html
Rating/Warning(s): M, for sex
Why This Must Be Read: Garage sex. Hawt, hawt, garage sex. With emotional angst to boot. This isn’t a mindless romp. It’s what I think of as a very plausible escapade between these two characters. I like my hawt lovin’ to be grounded. Another very gifted author (we have so many of them for this ship!).
Fic Rec #10: I Want to See the Sun Rise Anywhere But Here
Author:
anythingbutgrey
Link: http://anythingbutgrey.livejournal.com/682787.html
Rating/Warning(s): M, non-graphic sex
Why This Must Be Read: Okay, really I wish I could rec everything by this woman, but I decided to just pick one. She writes beautifully, artfully, sweetly. If this story isn’t the one for you, go pick out one of her others. Anything she writes is quality stuff. A lot of peopleblame credit her for getting them involved with fic for this ship.
