Rating/Warning(s): NC-17 for sex and Discussion of dead bodies in regards to the case. Spoilers from 4.07 Memoriam.
Genre: Comfort
WIP?: No
Why This Must Be Read: There's not a lot of het stuff out there for this show (more specifically for this ship) and what does exist isn't very compelling so, you have to be an archeologist of sorts by digging deep through tonnes of fic. You have to sift through the dreck to find the shiny stuff. This is one of those gems. Its tone is perfectly balanced between Hotch's internalisation and the narrative voice. It also gives insight to JJ's character which, IMO, has been woefully neglected in the series. It is observant and draws the lines of connection for these two. It is in the moment as much as it is weighing the repercussions of the future. It showcases a delicateness in the face of harsh circumstance.
